This is THE best indie game this year. The Soundtrack is currated by one of the best DJ's still in the game. The animation that was done by Jon NG another great artist not new to his craft. It looks like a comic book and plays like one between sequences, and the keys make it feel like I am playing tony hawk. The Animation stands out tho, way out there in the way that style matters! Great in game original animation makes the game a clear stand out, Jon Ng prevails as a master of his craft. The many characters in the game make for a customisation that makes for a good balence in product, versus playability. In wins in both of those catogorys, and also sets the bar higher for indie game devolpers. The crew was in a sort, a supergroup of artist, this is something that the community needs more of, colaboration between people, ideas, styles, and skillsets between and handpicked colaborators who will works well together as friends. Floor kids is beautiful, fun to play from the GO, and hopefully we see a Floor Kids 2 on the horizion soon, or new additions to landscape. Hopefully John Ng will also continues his craft thru other games. Style matters. 10/10. For someone who's never been into breakdancing before, I sure love this game. I suppose it helps with my past interest in hip hop beats at least. The art is amazing and the animations are smooth. Although the controls are very simple and every character gets the same inputs for different dance styles and categories, the characters still feel unique from each other based on their appearance, dance style, and most especially combo flow. Then of course the music for a rhythm game needs to be good and I gotta say this song's soundtrack is amazing. I would definitely buy the soundtrack if they ever sold it here on Steam or anywhere else. There's more than enough variety in different types of beats, but in the end they all serve the purpose of hyping you up to bboy. Some issues I have with this game, though, is the inconsistency of performing Power Moves. They not only look the coolest, they also help in boosting your score if you like getting high scores and getting the maximum amount of crowns to prove your prowess. It's weird, in Infinity Mode, Power Moves work perfectly fine, but I have no idea what causes this glitch that doesn't let you do Power Moves in story mode where you need them the most. The song structures may get a bit drab at times as they're all around 2 minutes each, and they feature two choruses that serve as conventional rhythm sections you'd expect in most rhythm games where you gotta tap buttons at a specific syncopated beat. Otherwise for the verses you are free to freestyle and mix up your moves anyway you please as long as you're tapping any face button on repeatedly on every beat count. The problem I have with the song structure though is that it would have been nice to have some kind of outro sequence where you're challenged do some specific combos or crowd requests that force you to make up your own as opposed to the ones all set per character. Other than that, I see myself enjoying this game for a long time. It's a nice sit back and relax kind of game with low stakes and maximum fun. Fix the Power Move glitch, maybe find a way to extend the verses and other modes where you can do more than just story mode with its 2 minutes songs or Infinity Mode where you're dancing in a bland background. I think that mode could benefit from being allowed to choose a venue to dance in, and possibly the choice to preview the sound of each song before you pick them in the menu.Awesome awesome game. Well worth the wait!. I like this game. It's cute, and hand drawn animation is hard to do - it's done rather well here.I love the rough aesthetic. The controls are kinds weird, just think Tony Hawk - That's a good jumping-off point. You have various movestyles - if you just tap a button to the beat ( the meter on the top of the screen shows you the beat ) you can hold a direction and tap, you can hold two buttons and do a "freeze" moveyou can rotate the analogue stick with a button and various other conditons for power moves, it's a neat little system. They also throw in little pauses where you have to hit the X boxes to the rhythm, and then do some badass poses afterwards by pressing the buttons.I can't stress enough how much fun this is to mess aorund in, and once you get a flow - you're gonna have a real good time. There's one other thing I didn't quite get at first; every once in awhile, you'll see a movetype in a blue speech bubble - with a little white line tracing it to act as a timer. I didn';t get it at first, but those are audience requests - if you perform the trick or moveset type, you get a FIRE bonus. There's variety of categories to amount to your score totals, and there's a variety of bboys and girls to choose from , each with their own take on moves, and different styles and strengths.as deep as it is, it is equally calm and low-key about just having fun. You don't seem to lose if you " do bad " this isn't Parappa the Rapper - so just jump in, bust-a-move and get down on the floor =p. This Game reminds me of B-Boy in the PSP and this delivers so muuuuuuuuch I wish I could dance like these drawings :(. This captured perfectly how it feels in the circle! There is so much to do and it rewards musicality and creativity like no other game.Gameplaywise it's like combining Tony Hawk and a Rythym Game.Theme wise it's the best dancing game ever.Cheers, a B-Boy. So I made a first impressions video on the first few hours of the game. If you're on the fence about the game, come and have a quick view. Hope it helps! Youtube Link
